With the elections right around the corner, it is mandatory to have a valid voter ID in your hand. In case of damage, theft, or misplacement of your voter ID, all you have to do is follow quick and easy fixes by applying for a duplicate voter ID.
Eligibility To Apply For A Duplicate Voter ID Card
To be able to apply for a duplicate voter ID, it must either be damaged, stolen, or misplaced.
The process of applying for a duplicate voter ID is easier and more hassle-free. You can do it from home, and there is no need to visit any government centres.
Steps To Make A Duplicate Voter ID

First of all, you have to go to the website of the Chief Electoral Officer of your respective state and download a copy of Form EPIC-002. This form is used for issuing the photo voter ID card.

In the form, you will also have to give the reason for making a duplicate ID card.

If your voter ID card is lost or stolen, you will also have to attach a copy of the FIR.

Apart from this, a passport-size photo, address, and identity proof should also be included in the documents.

You will be given a reference number.

With the help of this number, you can track the status of your application by visiting the website of the State Election Office.

Once you submit your form, it is first verified, and then the process of getting a duplicate voter card starts.

You will be informed after the verification. Visit the local election officer and get your voter card.
After you’ve received your duplicate voter ID, you can now go and get it laminated and turned into an actual card, which now holds the same value and power as a normal voter ID does.
