It is now mandatory for farmers in India to complete their Farmer Registration if they wish to stay eligible for assistance under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Again, the government set this deadline, and the farmers have until January 31st to register. Failure to do so will make them miss the benefits of the agriculture scheme.

Why Farmer Registry Is Important

Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the farmers get ₹2,000 directly deposited into their bank account once every three months. But in future, this benefit will be available only to those farmers who have completed their Farmer Registry. The government aims to bring about this process to promote efficiency and effectiveness in the distribution of benefits.

Within a total of 5.25 lakh farmers in the Badaun district, 4.54 lakh are availing the scheme’s cover. However, 3.94 lakh farmers still need to complete the Farmer Registry.

What Is Farmer Registry?

The Farmer Registry is a system which is used for collecting the details of a farmer and also for the verification of a farmer. It reduces the risk of errors as Aadhaar is linked, land is verified and e-KYC is completed. On this note, Farmers can register with the help of the following means:

  • Land record verification.

  • Aadhaar seeding (linking Aadhaar number with land records).

  • e-KYC (video-based e-KYC).

  • Farmer’s consent for the process to be completed.

Farmers can complete their registration through:

  • Farmer Web Portal: https://upfr.agristack.gov.in

  • Mobile App: Download the "Farmer Registry UP" app from the Google Play Store.

  • Jan Suvidha Centres: Visit the centres with your Aadhaar card, a mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, and land records (Khatauni).

Benefits Of Farmer Registry

There are numerous advantages attached to it for farmers by simplifying certain processes and improving access to various resources. With its help, farmers can optimally utilise government schemes and their help comes promptly. Here are some key benefits:

  • Ease of Availing Schemes: There are also recordings of loans and KCC (Kisan Credit Card) information which has been simplified because of Government schemes including PM Kisan Yojana.

  • Crop Insurance: It will be easier to get to crop Insurance schemes.

  • MSP Registration: Farmers will freely register their crops for sale through the web platform by using the Minimum Support Price (MSP) facility.

  • Advice and Guidance: Scientists and other agricultural experts will send advice to the farmers promptly to improve agricultural practices.

Current Progress

The registration process began on 18th November and will continue until 31st January. To date, only 60,000 farmers have registered. Having so many who are still unregistered raises anxiety in the officials about meeting the deadline.

Challenges Faced By Farmers

A considerable number of farmers have no knowledge of the Farmer Registration or how to fill it out. A few have also encountered difficulties during the online registration process. For example:

  • One farmer from Kunwargaon mentioned that he did not know the process and said that he planned to go to the department for guidance.

  • Another farmer from Ganj village attempted to register on the internet, but she couldn’t do it, and now is looking for help from the officials.

Steps Taken By The Authorities

The revenue and agricultural officials are setting up camps in the villages to guarantee that all the farmers finish registration. For farmers, these camps are available, or they can self-register via the application.

How to Register for PM Kisan Yojana Benefits

Registering for PM Kisan Yojana benefits is an easy process that ensures farmers receive financial support directly from the government. To complete the registration, farmers need to share basic details and complete e-KYC. Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Visit the Farmer Registry UP portal or download the Farmer Registry UP app.

Step 2: Provide your Aadhaar card details, mobile number, and land records.

Step 3: Complete the e-KYC process online or at Jan Suvidha Centres.

Step 4: Ensure all details are accurate to avoid rejection.

Conclusion

Farmers must complete the Farmer Registry before 31st January to continue receiving benefits under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The government has made this process mandatory to improve transparency and provide benefits to the right beneficiaries. Farmers are urged to complete their registration at the earliest to avoid losing the financial aid.
