It is now mandatory for farmers in India to complete their Farmer Registration if they wish to stay eligible for assistance under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Again, the government set this deadline, and the farmers have until January 31st to register. Failure to do so will make them miss the benefits of the agriculture scheme.

Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the farmers will get ₹2,000 directly deposited into their bank account once every three months. But in the future, this benefit will be available only to those farmers who have completed their Farmer Registry. The government aims to bring about this process to promote efficiency and effectiveness in the distribution of benefits.
Within a total of 5.25 lakh farmers in the Badaun district, 4.54 lakh are availing the scheme’s cover. However, 3.94 lakh farmers still need to complete the Farmer Registry.
The Farmer Registry is a system that is used for collecting the details of a farmer and also for the verification of a farmer. It reduces the risk of errors when one’s Aadhaar is linked, land is verified, and e-KYC is completed. Farmers can register with the help of the following means:
Land record verification.
Aadhaar seeding (linking Aadhaar number with land records).
e-KYC (video-based e-KYC).
Farmer’s consent for the process to be completed.
Farmers can complete their registration through:
Mobile App: Download the "Farmer Registry UP" app from the Google Play Store.
Jan Suvidha Centres: Visit the centres with your Aadhaar card, a mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, and land records (Khatauni).
Farmers are required to submit some supporting documents to successfully enrol in the farmer registry. The list of documents is as follows:
There are numerous advantages attached to it for farmers by simplifying certain processes and improving access to various resources. With its help, farmers can optimally utilise government schemes and their help comes promptly. Here are some key benefits:
Crop Insurance: Through the Farmer Registry, it will be easier for the registered farmers to get access to crop Insurance schemes.
MSP Registration: Farmers would be able to freely register their crops for sale through the web platform simply by using the Minimum Support Price (MSP) facility.
Advice and Guidance: Scientists and other agricultural experts will send advice to the farmers promptly to improve agricultural practices.
The registration process began on 18th November and will continue until 31st January. To date, only 60,000 farmers have registered. Having so many who are still unregistered raises anxiety in the officials about meeting the deadline. So please finish registering if you’re in the profession of farming.
A considerable number of farmers have no knowledge of the Farmer Registration or how to fill it out. A few have also encountered difficulties during the online registration process. For example:
One farmer from Kunwargaon mentioned that he did not know the process and said that he planned to go to the department for guidance.
Another farmer from Ganj village attempted to register on the internet, but she couldn’t do it, and now is looking for help from the officials.
Farmers must complete the Farmer Registry before 31st January to continue receiving benefits under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The government has made this process mandatory to improve transparency and provide benefits to the right beneficiaries. Farmers are urged to complete their registration at the earliest to avoid losing the financial aid.
