Individuals interested in applying for this govt scheme first need to ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria for the same or not. The Pragati Scholarship eligibility criteria are as follows:
Applicants must be female.
Applicants must already be studying in the first year of a diploma or in a second year of a degree-level course through lateral entry.
The annual income of the applicant or their family should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh.
Also, please note that girls who are eligible for this govt scholarship scheme and are permanent residents of any of the Union Territories of India. i.e., Andaman and Nicobar Islands (UT), Jammu and Kashmir (UT), Ladakh (UT), Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu (UT), Lakshadweep (UT), Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, & Tripura will be provided a scholarship by the AICTE.
There is an exclusion criterion for this govt scheme which prohibits or even makes eligible beneficiaries ineligible for the scheme. The criteria of exclusion are as follows:
If a registered beneficiary fails or drops out in the middle of the course, they will be removed from the scheme.
Applicants who are a part of other schemes that provide financial aid in various forms, like scholarships, stipends, etc., cannot apply for this govt scholarship scheme.
If there is a gap period of more than 2 years between passing the qualifying exam and admission to another degree course, they will not be able to apply for this govt scheme.
This scholarship scheme can only be availed by a maximum of two girls from a single family.
Individuals can apply for this govt scholarship scheme through an online platform from the comfort of their homes. The Pragati Scholarship apply online process is mentioned below in a stepwise manner so that you can follow it easily:
Step 1: To start the Pragati Scholarship apply online process, one needs to begin by registering themselves on the official portal of the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 2: Fill in your details and complete the registration procedure by accepting all the terms and conditions after reading. After registration, the system will generate an application ID and password for future use. Please change the password to a combination of alphanumeric digits that you can easily remember.
Step 3: Please refresh the page and navigate to the login option. Log in through the portal using your recently generated application ID and password, and validate using the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Click on ‘Application’ and then fill in the details in the Pragati Scholarship application form carefully and accurately.
Step 5: Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents. The authorities will verify the credibility of all the uploaded documents through one's DigiLocker.
Step 6: Recheck the filled information, pay the nominal fee, and submit the Pragati Scholarship application form.
Please note that one can also track the status of their payments through the Public Financial Management System Framework using their Aadhaar card number, Bank account number, or the Application ID generated from the National Scholarship Portal.
There are some documents that the applicants are required to attach while applying for the govt scholarship scheme. The list of required documents is as follows:
Educational marksheets (such as those of the 10th and 12th standards)
ITI certificate (in case of lateral entry for diploma)
Diploma certificate (in case of lateral entry for a degree)
