The ‘Training in Coir’ Component of the Development of Coir Scheme is launched by the Department of Industries and Commerce under the Union Territory of Puducherry. The trainees approved and selected for the scheme are entitled to receive a stipend of Rs. 1500 per month till the completion of the training programme. They are also provided with an honorarium worth Rs. 300 per month, which can go upto Rs. 3,000. Please note that there are charges for wastage for the raw material as well, which can go between the range of Rs. 200 to Rs. 2000.

Applicant should be a permanent resident of the Union Territory of Puducherry or at least be residing in the UT for a minimum of 3 years.

Step 1: Please take a print of the application form.

Step 2: Fill in all the details in the application form carefully and accurately.

Step 4: Recheck the filled information in the form and the order of the documents, and then please visit the Project Manager (Cottage Industries) of the District Industries Centre (Thattanchavady, Puducherry - 605009) and submit it there.
