What Is The STARS Project/स्टार्स प्रोजेक्ट क्या है?

The Indian government launched the STARS Project and the STARS Project funded by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education. The STARS full form is Strengthening Teaching-Learning & Results for States, and the answer to STARS Yojana kab shuru hui/ STARS Project launch date is 2020. The primary aim of the STARS Scheme is to enhance the current aspects of the educational system of India and ensure that everyone has proper education.

The Stars Project in education covers around 6 cities, which are Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, and Odisha. Some significant points about the project are as follows:

  • The project will be implemented through the Samagra Shiksha Scheme.

  • Under the project, bodies like PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, & Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) will be established.

  • Funds worth Rs. 5718 crore have been allocated for the project, which is provided by the World Bank.

Components Of The STARS Project

  1. PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, & Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development): This body will work as a National Assessment Centre and will establish guidelines for around 60 examination boards across the country.

  2. Contingency Emergency Response Component (CERC): CERC would focus on the financial aspect of the project and standard protocols for emergencies.

  • One of the major challenges of the project is the training of teachers and reducing the number of their resignations.
