Education for Children is very vital to the welfare of every child but the problem that hounds us is an economic constraint that hinders every child from having quality learning. To try and address this problem, and as a way of decreasing dropout rates, the Government of Madhya Pradesh introduced the Sudama Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme. The purpose of this government program is to provide students coming from the economically weaker section of society with money so that they can continue their education without any concern for the expenditures that will be incurred.

The Sudama Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme is a scholarship given out to Premium members of the Sudama Foreign Children Study Support Centre. The scholarship scheme is a scholarship assistance programme for deserving students studying in government schools from economically weaker sections of society. It also has the advantage of helping to shift the burden of cost from the families and ensuring students persist towards the next cycle of learning.

Eligibility Criteria
There is always a requirement that candidates applying for the scholarship meet to be considered for it. The following are the Sudama Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme eligibility criteria:-

This candidate has to be a resident of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

A government school-going student studying in class 9 or 10.

Belong to the BPL category.

The overall family income per annum should be below ₹ 1,00,000/-.

Annual Parents/Guardian Income
Sudama Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme’s Annual parental income/guardian income for the student from all sources shall not exceed ₹2,00,000/- only. Some adjustments can be made in case of a student’s family income reduction in connection with the death of the breadwinner.
Application Process
The students have to forward their applications through their school principals to access these services.

Students must submit the following documents when applying:

Selection Process
All students from Scheduled Castes will be given scholarships but the form has to be forwarded to the state of domicile.

All the students are chosen based on the requirement of relevance to the programmes offered.

Even if the student attends college in another state it remains applicable.
Duration and Renewal
This scholarship is tenable for ten months and renewable each year if the winner has passed Class 9, provided he or she exhibits good conduct and regular attendance.
Payment Of Scholarship
It is done from April or the month the child is admitted up to the time of the examinations at the end of the year.

Collections begin from the subsequent month to the prior year of the scholarship.
