The Meghalaya Victim Compensation Scheme, 2022, is a program introduced by the Social Welfare Department of Meghalaya. It provides financial help and support services to victims of crimes and their families. The following eligibility criteria have to be met to apply for the victim compensation scheme.
If the offender is not found, the victim can apply for compensation to cover rehab costs for physical and mental recovery.
The victim must report the crime to the local Police Station or Magistrate before claiming compensation.
The victim or their family must cooperate with the police and court from investigation to trial. Not cooperating will affect the claim.
The scheme covers crimes where the victim is injured, mentally affected, or dies.
The victim's death or injury must not be from a suicide or self-harm.
The victim should not have received compensation from other government schemes, insurance, or institutions.
The criminals or their families cannot receive compensation under this scheme.
Victims who meet the eligibility criteria can follow these steps to apply for the government scheme.
Visit the District Legal Services Authority to get the application form for the victim compensation scheme CRPC.
Fill out the application form with the necessary details.
Attach the required documents.
Submit the application form.
The District Legal Services Authority will then check the form and claim.
After reviewing, the Authority decides the compensation amount within two months. If the court awards more than the set limit, the full amount will be paid.

Identity proof.
Address proof.
