Tuition Waiver Scheme, Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to VJNT/SBC Students in High Schools is a governmental effort to relieve students of VJNT and SBC communities in Maharashtra regarding financial expenses related to education. This government scheme covers many other school expenses to cut the cost barrier for the students of such groups who wish to go for quality education.
Maharashtra's Tuition Fees and Examination Fees Scheme for VJNT and SBC students reduces the financial pressure that the students may carry while continuing their education. This scheme tries to address the worries of students coming from below-poverty-line families and helps them pay the most basic fees so that there is no gap in their education.
Financial Assistance: Students have reimbursement for various expenses such as tuition fees, examination fees, laboratory fees, library fees, etc.
Inclusive Coverage: This applies to students in classes 1 to 10 who attend government-aided, private, or permanently unassisted schools.
Urban and Rural Aid: Education fees of ₹100 to ₹200 are provided depending on whether the student resides in urban or rural areas.
The criteria for the Tuition Fees and Examination Fees Scheme for VJNT & SBC students for repayment is designed in such a way that only eligible students from these backward classes will be able to get financial assistance for educational purposes. The govt scheme is inclusive, allowing a wide range of students to benefit, provided they meet the following conditions:
The student should be in a VJNT or SBC category.
There are no criteria for age or the source of income.
The student should be studying in any accredited high school.
Students are eligible even for failing once but are not allowed to fail two times.
