The “Financial Assistance to Mussel Culture and Oyster Farming in Goa” scheme was introduced by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Goa. This govt scheme provides financial support to fishermen who are interested in setting up mussel and oyster farming units. Applications for this government scheme for oyster farming are accepted only in offline mode.

To set up a unit in estuarine waters, fishermen can get 50% of the cost covered, up to ₹25,000 per unit. They can have up to 2 units, with each unit being 4 metres by 4 metres in size. For units in the open sea, they can also receive 50% of the cost, up to ₹40,000 per unit. A maximum of 2 units is allowed, and each unit will be 6 metres by 6 metres in size.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria To Apply For This Government Scheme For Oyster Farming?

For individuals who want to apply for this government scheme, they have to ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria.

  • Should be a fish farmer, individual, or a member of registered self-help groups, societies, or associations interested in setting up a mussel culture or oyster farming unit in Goa.

  • Should have been a resident of Goa for the last fifteen years.

  • The applicant should have completed a training program on mussel culture or oyster farming organised by the Fisheries Department, MPEDA, ICAR, or any other recognized institute.

What Is The Application Process To Apply For This Government Scheme For Oyster Farming?

Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria can follow these steps to apply for this govt scheme.

  2. Take a print of the application form in the prescribed format.

  3. Fill out the application form with the necessary details.

  4. Attach the required documents with the application form.

What Are The Required Documents To Be Submitted With The Application Form?

Individuals have to attach the following documents with the application form.

  1. Proof of identity

  2. Two photographs

  3. Documents for the Proof of Availability of Land (if applicable)

A. For Owners

(i) Copy of the Land Deed

(ii) Form 1 & Form 14

B. For Lease

(i) NOC from the Land Owner.

(ii) Registered Lease Agreement

  1. Proof of Availability of Finance

  2. Detailed Project Report

  3. Estuarine Unit in River/Open Sea: NOC from Concerned Authority

  4. Certificate of Experience

  5. Expenditure Details

  6. Design/Layout of Unit

  7. Mandate Form
