What Is The BHARATPOL Portal?

The Union Home Minister of India and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah recently announced the launch of the BHARATPOL Portal developed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The primary objective behind the introduction of the digital portal is to improve the execution of criminal laws and impart justice by employing various measures through the portal.

Key Details Of BHARATPOL Portal

There are some major points of the newly launched digital portal that one should know about. All the key details concerning it are mentioned below in detail for one’s better understanding and reference:

• Gateway to INTERPOL: All types of defence forces would be able to connect with the INTERPOL (International Crime Police Organisation) as needed.

• Modules: The digital portal has a total of 5 INTERPOL modules under it which helps in achieving its ultimate goal and objective. Those 5 modules are:

1. Connect: It would enable all the defence forces to work as an extension of INTERPOL’s National Central Bureau.

2. INTERPOL Notices: This would help find and catch the accused individuals or groups.

3. INTERPOL References: It would join 195 countries for improved international assistance as and when needed.

4. Broadcast: Platform through which those same 195 countries would connect whenever needed.

5. Resources: For the safe exchange of documents and evidence.

• Real-time data: The BHARATPOL Portal would run on a real-time interface wherein authorities can issue notices like Red Corner Notices and other such notices through a global unified network.

• Fugitives: The newly launched govt portal aims to reduce the number of fugitives and deliver justice irrespective of where the accused individuals run off to.

• Access to INTERPOL databases: All defence forces would be given access to 19 types of INTERPOL databases.
