The ST student financial aid is awarded via an offline application process with an educational institution. All formalities should be duly filled out and documents submitted on time and with care by the student.
Step 1: Educational institutions will notify the eligible students about the scholarship program and declare the deadline for submission of applications and supporting documents.
Step 2: Students should collect the application form, carefully fill in all required details, and attach the prescribed supporting documents.
Step 3: Information received by the institution is verified, and supporting documents are verified.
Step 4: Educational institutions fill out Annexure IV and make sure that the applicant's bank account is in their name and is active.
Step 5: The institution creates, accesses and provides a list of eligible and rejected candidates before their final submission and makes it public for students to find the discrepancies in their CVs and resolv theme.
Step 6: The institution submits Annexure IV in soft and hard copies to the Directorate of Higher Education, bearing the required documents and as per the timeline.
Step 7: The Head of Institution checks and certifies all documents, ensuring that all data provided by the students is accurate and complete.
Step 8: Directorate of Higher Education reviews the applications and runs through acceptable instances for approval or giving the scholarship.
Step 9: Scholarship grants are paid out to the eligible student on approval in accordance with the applicable guidelines of the Scheme.

Students who are studying in institutions which are not have a valid AISHE or UDISE code might be ineligible for the benefits of a scholarship.

Students are responsible for having information in their bank accounts that is correct, as scholarship proceeds are distributed via the banking system.
The candidate who receives benefits under any other government scholarship scheme is generally deemed to be disqualified for payments under this scheme.
For hostel-related benefits, as such, the prescribed hostel certificate issued by the authorised authority shall be submitted by the hostellers.
