The Department of Food and Supplies & Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, launched a scheme called the One Nation One Ration Card Yojana. The One Nation One Ration Card launch date was in the year 2018. The primary aim of the scheme is to allow the citizens of India, including domestic migrants, to purchase food grains at subsidised rates from the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The One Nation One Ration Card operates under the National Food Security Act of 2013. Under the Essential Commodities Act 1955, the Fair Price Shops were also established, which are responsible for distributing food grains (Rs 3 per kg for rice, Rs 2 per kg for wheat, and Rs 1 per kg for coarse grains) to eligible beneficiaries with the One Nation One Ration Cards. Till now, 36 states/UTs have implemented the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme.
Authorities have also designed the One Nation One Ration Card Website and One Nation One Ration Card App (called the Mera Ration App, available for both Android & iOS) for the ease and convenience of the people.

Applicants need to first fulfil some conditions before engaging in the process of One Nation One Ration Card Scheme online apply. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
Applicants can apply for the One Nation One Ration Card Yojana through both online and offline platforms, as per their convenience and choice. Both application methods are mentioned below in a step-by-step format for one’s better understanding.
Step 1: Please visit the One Nation One Ration Card Website (NFSA) or download the One Nation One Ration Card App (called the Mera Ration App, available for both Android & iOS) to start the One Nation One Ration Card apply online.
Step 2: Click on ‘Register’.
Step 3: Fill in the required details like name, Aadhaar information, income, etc.
Step 4: Cross-check the filled information, submit, and wait for approval, which one can One Nation One Ration Card check online. After approvals, one can One Nation One Ration Card download.
Step 1: Please visit the nearest Fair Price Shop with some essential documents like your Aadhaar card.
Step 2: Fill in your necessary details, complete the authentication, apply, and wait for approval.

If anyone wants to port their ration cards to One Nation One Ration Card, all they have to do is simply visit the nearest Fair Price Shop and request the same. The person working at the Fair Price Shop will use their e-POS device and make the necessary changes required to port cards using their biometrics and Aadhaar Information.
