The Sindhu Darshan Yatra Scheme was introduced by the Tourism Department of the Government of Haryana on 12th July 2016. This government scheme is designed to support pilgrims from Haryana who wish to participate in the Sindhu Darshan Yatra. It supports subsidised trip to Ladakh.

What Is Sindhu Darshan Yatra Scheme?

Under the Sindhu Darshan Yatra Scheme, the government offers financial assistance to help cover the costs of the pilgrimage. Each pilgrim can receive up to ₹10,000 or 50% of their actual expenses, whichever amount is less. This financial support is meant to make the Yatra more affordable and accessible to people from Haryana.

Only a maximum of 50 pilgrims will be supported under this state government scheme each year. This initiative by the Haryana government aims to encourage more people from the state to take part in the Sindhu Darshan Yatra by reducing the financial burden of the trip.

Benefits

Under the Sindhu Darshan Yatra Scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs. 10,000 or 50% of the actual expenditure per person whichever is lower is paid. In this regard, the scheme only assists a maximum of 50 pilgrims who are involved in the pilgrimage exercise.

Eligibility Criteria

Any Indian citizen, generally within a specified age range, and physically fit for the yatra, is eligible. Additional eligibility criteria may apply based on state-specific rules or prior pilgrimage experience. The following criteria have to be met by the pilgrims to apply for the Sindhu Darshan Yatra Scheme.

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Haryana.

  • The Yatra should be completed through the State Government, Central Government, or a recognised Society.

  • A completion certificate from the State/Central Government or Society must be submitted.

  • Financial assistance is provided only once per pilgrim.

Application Process

Applicants can apply both online and offline. They need to submit the required details and documents as per the state government scheme guidelines on the preferred mode. Pilgrims who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for this state government scheme via the below-mentioned steps:-

Online Application Process

Visit the Antyodaya-SARAL Portal and fill out the application form with accurate information. Make sure to upload the required documents for verification. The following steps can be followed to apply for the govt scheme online.

Step 1: Go to the official Antyodaya-SARAL Portal.

Step 2: Click on “Sign in here” on the right side of the screen and enter your credentials. Click ‘Login’.

Step 3: Click on “Scheme/Services list” to see a list of available schemes.

Step 4: Select the scheme you want and click “Apply for Service/Scheme”.

Step 5: Fill out the application form with the necessary details.

Step 6: Attach the necessary documents.

Step 7: Submit the application form.

How To Register For Antyodaya-SARAL Portal

Provide your details to create an account and get access to the online application services. To complete the online application process, pilgrims must register at the Antyodaya SARAL Portal.

Step 1: Visit the Antyodaya-SARAL Portal.

Step 2: If not registered, click on “New User/Register Here” and fill in your Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, and password. Click ‘Submit’.

Step 3: Applicants will receive a login ID on their mobile number.

Offline Application Process

Visit the nearest government office handling the scheme. Fill out the physical application form and submit it along with the required documents. Pilgrims can follow these steps to apply for the Sindhu Darshan Yatra Scheme offline.

Step 1: The pilgrim must apply within two months after the Yatra to the Director of the Tourism Department, Haryana.

Step 2: The application must be in the prescribed format Annexure A and must include all relevant documents.

Step 3: The Director will review the documents and forward them to the Administrative Secretary, Government of Haryana, Tourism Department within 15 days for approval.

Step 4: Once approved, the financial assistance will be issued through a Demand Draft.

Documents Required

Applicants must provide ID proof (such as an Aadhaar card), address proof, passport-size

photos, and a medical certificate for fitness if required by the scheme guidelines. The following documents have to be submitted along with the application form for the Sindhu Darshan Yatra Scheme.

  • Identity proof.

  • Passport-size photographs.

  • Resident Proof/Address Proof.

  • Attested Copy of the Permanent Residential Certificate (Domicile) of Haryana.

  • Attested Copy of the Yatra Completion Certificate from the State Govt./Central Govt./Society.

  • Declaration from the pilgrim that He/She never claimed this financial assistance earlier and will not claim it in the future.
