The YSR Law Nestham program was started in December 2019 by the government of Andhra Pradesh as a welfare program. Under the govt scheme, financial assistance is targeted towards junior advocates for three years post-enrollment as an advocate. To address the worries of the recently graduated attorneys concerning the establishment of a career in the law sphere, the government has a scheme which gives a sum of INR 5000 monthly for three years to law graduates while they are seeking employment in the law industry.

The YSR Law Nestham scheme is meant to enable young advocates to help in terms of funds as they begin the performance of legal practice in the state of Andhra Pradesh. To be eligible for this state government scheme, applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
The resident or domicile of Andhra Pradesh.
The applicant should hold a Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB).
Only law graduates who passed out in 2016 or thereafter are eligible.
The applicant’s name should appear on the rolls of the Advocates maintained by the Andhra Pradesh State Bar Council registered in the following sub-section 17 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
Junior advocates who are still within the first three years of practice counting from the date the Government Order was issued are also utility eligible for the stipend for the remaining time.
The applicant should be above 34 years of age but not exceeding the age of 35 on the date the Government order was issued.
This is a "One Family, One Benefit" scheme, in which only one person -husband, wife or Child in a family is allowed to get help.

The YSR Law Nestham scheme has certain people who can't apply to ensure that only eligible candidates benefit from money help. The following individuals are not included:
Junior advocates who have already completed three years of practice are not eligible.
Four-wheelers owned by advocates automatically cut out eligibility.
Non-practicing advocates do not qualify to apply for the scheme.
For the junior advocates who want to benefit from the law assistance scheme, there is a well-planned online application process provided in the YSR Law Nestham scheme. These are steps that are followed in making sure the application is successful.
Register Online: An aspiring candidate has to head to the site and access the online form that will capture the necessary details and attach needed papers such as ID.
Verification: When an applicant submits their application, the volunteer persons of the respective village/ward do the checking while under the supervision of the Collector and the Municipal Commissioner.
Approval: Both the collector and the municipal commissioner confirm the verification and the application is published on the CFMS database portal.
Social Audit: The information of the application is put up on the Village/Ward Secretariat to enable a public review.
The payment of stipend under the YSR Law Nestham scheme is designed in a way to ensure that every eligible junior advocate receives timely monetary support. The method of payment is as follows:
As soon as the application is approved, the Law Department shall combine the number of people getting help and prepare the bill concerning all eligible members.
This amount is transferred to the applicant’s account after verification of the bill by the government money office.
A Village / Ward Volunteer shall hand over the proof of payment and message of the Chief Minister to the beneficiaries.
To apply for the YSR Law Nestham scheme, candidates must submit the following documents to prove they can apply and ensure easy handling. Required documents include:
Residential Certificate/Domicile Certificate
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (mark sheet or passing certificate)
Passport-sized photograph
Bank account details
A written statement signed by a senior advocate (with 15 years of practice) or the head of the court of a court, verifying active practice
Certificate of practice after clearing the Bar examination conducted by the Bar Council of India (to be submitted within two years of enrolment)
