The Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) is a mission launched by the state government of Bihar in the year 2010. The mission’s primary aim is to create and implement skill development programs for the youth of the state so that they can use their skills to create a sturdy livelihood for themselves and their families.

What Are The Roles & Responsibilities Of BSDM?

• The main role of the mission is to create various training programs with the required infrastructure and work on their implementation within the state for the youth.

• The skill development programs should be industry-relevant and practical so that they can be monetised later by the people.

• Bihar Skill Development promotes social inclusion of all groups of people, including disadvantaged groups like beggars, jail inmates, women, transgender people, persons with disability, leprosy-cured persons, etc.

• The mission is required to create a standardised process to govern the functioning of the sub-schemes under it.

• The monitoring of the skill development programs must be digitised for easier evaluation and oversight.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria Of KYP?

Interested applicants first need to ensure whether they fit into the eligibility criteria of the state government scheme or not. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Applicant must be between the ages of 15-28 years.

• Applicant must have cleared the 10th standard.

• Age limit for SC/ST is 33 years, 31 years for OBC, and 33 years for PwD.

What Documents Are Required To Apply For Bihar Skill Development Mission ?

Eligible individuals need to submit some supporting documents to successfully get their KYP certificates. The list of those documents is as follows:

• 10th/12th mark sheet

• Birth certificate

• Domicile certificate

• Aadhaar card
