What Is The Vishwakarma Scheme?

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme was launched on 17 September 2023, on Vishwakarma Day. This government scheme will run for five years, ending in 2027-28.

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a government scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Through this govt scheme, the government gives different artisans loans at low interest rates. The main goal of the Vishwakarma Scheme is to recognise artisans and craftsmen as "Vishwakarma" and provide them with all the benefits.

The government has set a budget of Rs 13,000 crore for this PM Vishwakarma Yojana. By offering loans at affordable rates, the government wants to support and improve the work of artisans.

What Are The Objectives Of The Vishwakarma Yojana Scheme?

What Are The Benefits Of PM Vishwakarma?

The Sarkari Yojana has various benefits. Let’s understand the benefits offered to artisans under the Vishwakarma Scheme.

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana will give recognition to beneficiaries with a certificate and ID card. Beneficiaries can use this certificate to get benefits for their work.
After verification, beneficiaries will receive basic training for 5-7 days. Those interested can also enrol for advanced training for 15 days. During training, Rs. 500 will be given per day.
Once training is completed, beneficiaries will receive Rs. 15,000 to buy a toolkit and start their work.
Beneficiaries can get an unsecured loan of Rs. 1 lakh, repayable in 18 months. If the first loan is repaid on time, they can get a second loan of Rs. 2 lakh, repayable in 30 months. The loan will have a 5% interest rate, and the government will pay the remaining interest.
For digital transactions, beneficiaries will receive Rs. 1 per transaction for up to 100 transactions each month.
The National Marketing Committee will help artisans with quality certification, branding, promotion, e-commerce links, trade fairs, advertising, and other marketing support.

What Are The Eligibility Criteria To Apply For The PM Vishwakarma Loan?

The applicants must meet various criteria under the PM Vishwakarma loan. These criteria have to be met by applicants to apply for the government scheme.

An artisan or craftsman working in the unorganised sector with hands and tools can register under PM Vishwakarma if they are self-employed and in a family-based traditional occupation.
The beneficiary must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration.
The person must be engaged in the relevant trade on the date of registration.
They should not have taken a loan under similar Central or State Government schemes for self-employment or business development.
They must not have used govt schemes like PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, or Mudra Yojana in the last five years.
Only one member of the family can register for the government scheme. A family includes the husband, wife, and unmarried children.

Who Cannot Apply For The Vishwakarma Yojana Scheme?

Those working in government jobs or their family members are not eligible for the Vishwakarma loan scheme. These employees cannot avail the benefits of the government scheme.

What Are Eligible Trades Under The PM Vishwakarma Loan?

Multiple trades are allowed to apply for the PM Vishwakarma Loan. The following trades are allowed to apply for the govt scheme.

Carpenter.
Boat maker.
Weapon maker.
Blacksmith.
Hammer and tool kit maker.
Locksmith.
Goldsmith.
Potter.
Sculptor.
Cobbler.
Mason.
Basket, mat, and broom maker.
Doll and toy maker.
Barber.
Garland maker.

What Are The Documents Required To Be Submitted?

Caste Certificate to confirm the community of the beneficiary.
Income Certificate that shows the beneficiary’s annual income.
Residence Certificate to provide the current address of the beneficiary.
Educational Qualification Certificate that shows the beneficiary’s educational background.
Skill Certificate for details of the skills and experience of the beneficiary.
Occupation Certificate to show the beneficiary’s current occupation (if any).

How To Register For The Vishwakarma Yojana Scheme?

The following steps can be followed to register for the Vishwakarma Yojana.

Visit your nearest Common Service Centre centre.
Verify your mobile number and complete the Aadhaar eKYC.
Apply for the Artisan Registration Form.
Download the PM Vishwakarma Digital ID and Certificate.

Vishwakarma Loan Scheme Apply Online

After registering, these steps can be followed to apply for the Vishwakarma Yojana.

Visit the official Vishwakarma portal.
Complete mobile number verification and Aadhaar eKYC.
Fill out the Artisan Registration Form.
Download your PM Vishwakarma Digital ID and Certificate.
Apply for the benefits available under the scheme.

What is The Verification Process And Benefits Disbursal Process Of PM Vishwakarma?

Applicants can follow these steps to check their verification process and benefit from the disbursal process of the Vishwakarma Yojana.

Verification Process

The Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Body (ULB) will first check if the person is eligible.
The District Implementation Committee will review and recommend the applications.
The Screening Committee will give final approval for registration after confirming the eligibility of the applicants.

Benefit Disbursal Process

After passing the three-step verification, artisans and craftspeople will register as Vishwakarma under the govt scheme.
They will get a Digital ID, a PM Vishwakarma Digital Certificate, and a PM Vishwakarma ID Card.
The certificate will officially recognise them as Vishwakarma and allow them to access all the benefits of the Scheme.

How To Check The Status Of The PM Vishwakarma Scheme Application?

The following two methods can be used to check the PM Vishwakarma scheme application status.

Check PM Vishwakarma Yojana Status Using Registration Number

Applicants can check their application status using their registration number. These steps can be followed to check the application status of the PM Vishwakarma scheme.

Go to the PM Vishwakarma Yojana website.
Click on the login button on the homepage.
Enter your username and password to log in.
After logging in, click on the “Application Status” button.
Choose the option “Registration Number.”
Enter your registration number.
Click on the “Search” button.
Your application status will be shown on the screen.

Check PM Vishwakarma Yojana Status Using Aadhaar Number

Applicants can check their application status using their Aadhaar number. These steps can be followed to check.

Go to the official PM Vishwakarma Yojana website.
Click on the login button on the homepage.
Enter your username and password to log in.
Click on the “Application Status” button.
Select the option “Aadhaar Card Number.”
Enter your Aadhaar number.
Click on the “Search” button.
Your application status will be shown.

What Is The Rate Of Interest For PM Vishwakarma Scheme?
