What Is The Eligibility Criteria Of The State Disability Scholarship Scheme In Nagaland?

• The applicant must be a permanent resident or an indigenous of Nagaland and be pursuing his studies in a recognised educational institution in Class 8 - 12.

• The student should be studying in a school with a valid AISHE/UDISE code issued by the respective Education Department.

• The annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources of the applicant must not be more than ₹2.50 lakh.

• The student is required to have a valid certificate of disability confirming a medical benchmark for a disability of 40% or higher from a competent medical authority.

• A student who has failed to pass an examination and is consequently taking the same course in the same program is not eligible for consideration under the scheme.

• The applicant should not be getting any other scholarship from any other programme run by the Central Government, the State government or any agency.

• Students may apply for those with disability category recognised under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, who meet all State Merit Scholarship eligibility criteria.

Important Instructions For Applicants

The Department of Social Welfare has laid down several important instructions which an applicant needs to keep in mind when applying.

• Candidates who find mistakes after submission must cancel the application and again apply in the portal if allowed by the portal guidelines.

• Those receiving the Scholarship Amount Nagaland the previous year should present their previous Application ID when filling in their profile.

• The bank account utilised for scholarship disbursements should be the applicant's own. In the instance of a minor student, a joint account may be utilised, as long as the student's name is listed first on the passbook.

• The department shall not be liable for failure to pay due to bank account information provided by the applicant which is incorrect or inactive.

• Giving false information, falsified documents or false claims may lead to immediate withdrawal and repayment of disbursed scholarship.

• Awarded applicants with fraudulent activities will be ineligible to participate in any further Government of Nagaland Scholarship schemes.

• Incomplete applications and incorrect entries or missing documents may result in rejection without further opportunity to correct on the final submission.
