Roadways are one of the most preferred modes of transportation, especially for covering short or moderate distances. Hence, every country’s government is responsible for maintaining the quality of roadways to avoid any unfortunate incidents like accidents.

Recently, the government has announced and approved 9 new road projects to be constructed in Rajasthan. This project would not only build new roadway connections which would help people commute easily and quickly but also improve the quality of existing roadways.

Details Of The New Road Projects

Recently, Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Union Road Transport and Highways announced and approved new road projects to be constructed in the state of Rajasthan. The major details of the new road projects are mentioned below for one’s reference and better understanding.

Total Number of Road Projects

A total of 9 new road projects have been announced and approved by the Ministry of Union Road Transport and Highways to be constructed in Rajasthan.

Budget

The total budget allocated for the 9 new road projects is around 30,000 crore.

Connections

Some major roadway connections have been approved under the new road project such as

  • Northern Jaipur Ring Road: The Northern Jaipur Ring Road which is around 110 km long has been approved.

  • Kotputli- Agra Greenfield Expressway: The Kotputli- Agra Greenfield Expressway has been approved.

Along with these two, the Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur to Amritsar Highway and other such roadways are approved.

A Special Request

Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Union Road Transport and Highways has also requested the Chief Minister of the state of Rajasthan to provide farmers with 40% of the developed land near the North Jaipur bypass so that they can earn well too.

He emphasised the government’s focus on reducing additional agricultural costs that increase because of the use of chemical fertilisers. This represents the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural practices that would increase both, the quality of the produce as well as the income of the farmers.
